Magna meals on wheels
Meals on Wheels have been provided across the country by many different organisations since the 1940s, supplying a much needed service to many thousands of people.
Magna West Somerset now offer this service to anyone living within a ten mile radius of Watchet, Somerset who is vulnerable, disabled, or have long-term health needs. Magna Meals on Wheels is available to anyone who meets this criteria not just Magna tenants.
We can deliver a freshly cooked lunch time meal to you each day, once a week or any combination to suit your needs. We deliver at weekends, bank holidays and even on Christmas day!
Using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, our catering team prepares delicious hot and cold meals, which are delivered to your door ready for you to eat.
There’s no need for you to store meals in the freezer, or to heat the food - we deliver hot, fresh food right to your door every day. If you’re unable to plate the meal yourself we can do this for you, help cut your food if necessary, and even make you a cup of tea.
Our meals are reasonably priced-a hot meal including a dessert is from as little as £5.00.
For a modest additional charge of £2.50, we can also provide a selection of freshly made sandwiches on a choice of white or brown bread, or freshly made salads, for those needing something lighter for an evening meal. We’ll deliver these with your main lunch time meal.
Our menus roll out over a four week period, and we cater for all tastes and diets including health and cultural needs and low fat diets. We normally deliver meals to your door between the hours of 12.00 noon and 1.30 pm.
We offer a good selection of meals. Some examples of menu choices are:
• Casseroles
• Stews
• Cheese and potato pie
• Sausage, mash, baked beans or vegetables
• Fish and chips
• Roast dinners (every Wednesday & Sunday)
• Gammon and parsley sauce

To ensure next day delivery, meals should be ordered by 10.30 am.
If you wish to alter or cancel an order, you should telephone 0800 138 6107 between the hours of 9.00 am and 12.00 noon, the day before delivery. We regret that we have to charge for meals ordered, unless you tell us that you don’t need the meal by midday the day before delivery.
Once you are have started having meals, new menu's are sent out to you every 4 weeks, all you have to do is choose your meals and send them back to us in the prepaid envelope--we do the rest!
Meals are freshly cooked by our highly trained catering staff, in our 5 star rated kitchen, which shows our team really are a cut above the rest.
We use the best meat and vegetables to make sure you are provided with a well-balanced and nutritional diet. We aim to provide a high quality service to everyone, and regularly check to see if we are meeting customers’ expectations. We are always keen to find ways to improve our service.

Our meals service drivers are volunteers, working as part of a team to ensure that the meals delivered are of an excellent standard. Staff and volunteer drivers have undergone a criminal records bureau check and have received training.
Volunter Drivers
We’re looking for volunteer drivers to deliver meals between 11.45 am - 1.30 pm. Our meals are delivered on a daily basis including weekends but any days you could deliver would be a help. Fuel costs will be covered and you can have a FREE cooked meal or sandwich and cake on your delivery days. All volunteers are required to undergo a criminal records bureau check.
