Magna Lifeline
Our Lifeline service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, giving you and your family or your business peace of mind any time.
Magna Lifeline is a small unit connected to your telephone line. It’s used to raise an alarm for an individual or as a security alert system for your property or business. It comes with a pendant or watch that can be worn around the neck or wrist which can be pressed to contact our call centre in seconds.
Telecare add-ons
There are many ‘telecare add-ons’ that we can provide that work with your Magna Lifeline. These include:
• Fall detector
• Medication dispenser
• Epilepsy sensor
• Smoke & flood detectors
• Intruder alarm
• Bogus caller button
There are many more add – ons that will be of benefit to you and we can discuss your individual needs with you.
Most of this equipment is wireless and is activated automatically when needed - all you need to do is continue your daily routine as usual.
A range of equipment can be viewed and demonstrated in our telecare display home at Ingram’s Meadow in Watchet, or within your own home.
Our call centre is automatically contacted when you press your pendant or your sensor or detector is activated. When your call has been received, it will be answered by an operator in a matter of seconds. If the operator gets no response, they’ll clear the line and try to reach you on the telephone, after which, if there is still no response, they’ll call your contacts, or if necessary the emergency services.
If there’s no response from the first contact, the operator will continue to go down the list that you’ve given us. If there is no reply from any of
your contacts, and you are on our Silver Service, we have support staff on call 24 hours a day, who will call on you.
If you own a business and there are times when no one is in the property, we offer a security alert system. When triggered, the control centre will
alert the police and key holder in the event of an intruder entering the premises.
Installation is free and will be carried out at a time convenient for you. Our fully-trained installer will provide you with the Magna Lifeline unit and
a pendant or watch that can be worn around the neck or wrist, to activate the Magna Lifeline unit, wherever you are in your home or garden. Subject to availability and eligibility, we’ll also provide any other equipment you need free of charge.
Our installer will ensure the equipment is correctly installed and fully works around your property. They’ll demonstrate how to use the equipment and will answer any questions you may have.
To help us respond quickly in the event of activation, we need your medical information and the details of family or friends living nearby, who
can hold a key to your home (‘keyholders’). Alternatively you can have a “key safe” fitted.
If you are monitored by our silver service, and your keyholders are not available, our on call staff will attend. In an emergency our call centre will
contact the emergency services, regardless of which monitoring option you choose.
Your and your keyholders’ details are confidential and will never be passed on to an unauthorized third party.
We offer two levels of monitoring to suit your individual needs:
Magna Lifeline Silver Service
• Free installation and information on the first visit
• 24 hour, 7 day a week, 365 days a year monitoring service
• Weekly telephone call when needed
• Call-out service, allowing 2 call-outs a year free of charge. In the event of activation, our call centre will contact your keyholders or our on call staff to visit you
• Ideal if you do not have family or friends living nearby
Magna Lifeline Bronze Service
• Free installation and information on the first visit
• 24 hour, 7 day a week, 365 days a year monitoring service
• In the event of activation, our call centre will contact your keyholders
• Ideal if you have family or friends living nearby
Key Safes
We can fit a key safe outside your property to enable quick access in an emergency. We use the supra key safe, which has a lifetime guaranteeand is covered by the majority of insurance companies. With a key safe fitted, access is as easy as 1, 2, 3:
1) Enter code
2) Take key
3) Open the door
If you’re in hospital and almost ready to go home, your occupational therapist can make arrangements for you to use our Safe at Home service.
When you arrive home we’ll arrange a convenient time with you for us to install a Magna Lifeline. You can take advantage of the Magna Lifeline service FREE for six weeks.
You may then choose to keep the unit, either to buy or rent from us,together with our monitoring service, or return the unit to us. Safe at Home gives you added security and peace of mind when you need it most. Talk to your occupational therapist to arrange this service for you.
Magna Lifeline units can either be bought for a one-off payment and you then pay for monitoring only, or you can rent the unit from us and pay weekly for rental and monitoring.
If you’re on a low income and can’t afford a lifeline we may be able to help with the cost.
Silver Service
Lifeline Unit purchase price = £199.75
Monitoring only = £2.52 per week
or
Rental + monitoring = £4.65 per week
Bronze Service
Lifeline Unit purchase price = £199.75
Monitoring only = £1.98 per week
or
Rental + monitoring = £3.43 per week
Both options include free installation of the lifeline unit, plus free installation of any other lifeline products you need (subject to eligibility
and availability).
