Gas safety & servicing

We carry out gas safety checks every year on all of our properties that have a gas appliance or service pipe.

Don’t obstruct the fresh air vent to any gas appliance.

If you smell gas, follow these simple steps:

  • Turn off the gas supply. The on/off lever can be found next to your gas meter.
  • Open all windows and doors.
  • Don’t turn on or off any lights or sockets, strike matches, or light cigarettes.
  • Ring Transco or your gas supplier immediately to report the escape. Look in your telephone directory under Gas for the number, or ring 0800 111 999 (freephone).

We also service oil fired and solid fuel heating systems, and we sweep chimneys on an annual basis.
