Tenants' Conference 2009
Over fifty tenants, Board Members and staff joined together at Halsway Manor, near Crowcombe, for our annual tenants’ conference on 10th November.
The theme for this year’s event was “Tenants First In Influencing Our Journey To Excellence”.
MWS Director, Tony Murray, set the scene by explaining the background behind the theme, and our aim to achieve landlord accreditation in resident involvement through the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS).
Workshop sessions followed, facilitated by MWS managers Christine Boland, Barbara Mullan, and Sean Thompson, during which tenants and Board Members had an opportunity to ask questions, make comments, and put forward ideas on improving services.
After lunch, Tenant Involvement and Research Co-ordinator, Clive Barclay, took attendees through a draft new document setting out MWS’s commitment to resident involvement, which was endorsed by the conference.
We will be drawing up an action plan based on the outcome of the workshops, and will give you a progress update in the Spring edition of Opendoor magazine, and here on the website.
