Resident involvement
Resident involvement has always been at the heart of everything we do, and we encourage resident involvement in all aspects of our business.
Our tenants are involved in decision making at all levels, from tenants sitting on our management board, our tenants’ panel, a number of service review groups, to helping us carry out surveys and mystery shopping to help shape and improve the services we provide.
Tenant participation is an essential part of our activities and we have staff members whose role is to involve tenants.
Here are ways in which tenants can take part:
- helping develop policies and future plans
- what is covered by yearly spending budgets
- new housing development and design
- changes to policies and procedures
- service reviews
- the standards set for repairs and maintenance
- consultation on maintenance and improvement plans
- the type and standards of the services provided
- mystery shopping
- monitoring the work done by contractors
- assessing the type of information we provide, and how it is provided
- approving information leaflets and publications
- input into Opendoor tenants’ magazine
- changing the way we communicate with people
- monitoring our performance improvement
- projects to improve the local environment
- monitoring and reviewing our complaints process
- monitoring the effectiveness of tenant involvement
- completing tenant satisfaction surveys
Tenant representatives
We have a single tenants' panel with representatives drawn from across the areas we work in. We also have several independent local tenant representatives.
