Community improvement projects

Each year we set aside money in a special budget to pay for projects that help to improve life in local communities across the areas we cover.   This year, we've set aside £40,000 for community improvements.

Responsibility for allocating the money from this budget lies with a group of our tenant representatives, drawn mainly form our Tenants' Panel, who meet each month to consider applications for environmental improvements sent to them by our tenants.

Typical examples of successful applications include:

• Improvements to communal garden areas around blocks of flats;
• Better lighting outside community rooms;
• Secure door entry systems for community rooms;
• Provision of external information notice boards;
• Grant for a communal play area;
• Grants to village hall improvement schemes;
• New dishwasher for a community room.
