New Man in charge at Roughmoor
9/3/2009
A new man has taken the helm at Magna West Somerset’s Roughmoor Depot in Williton.
Sean Thompson has been appointed technical property services manager, succeeding Tim Harper.
The 46-year-old landed the top job following a successful interim period in the post and he’s now determined to continue the good work of his predecessor.
“Having spent a couple of months in the post as an interim appointment,” he explained, “I am delighted to have secured the position on a permanent basis.
“I learnt a great deal working with Tim and I am determined to continue that good work and improve our services further.”
Having originally trained and worked as a stone mason, Sean brings a wealth of building and property maintenance experience to the post.
Not only has he run his own businesses, he also enjoyed a spell in business management with building supply giants, Travis Perkins.
He joined Magna in 2007 and has since established himself as both a talented and popular member of staff with colleagues, business partners and tenants alike.
He added: “Our success at Roughmoor is down to having an excellent team of staff who are committed and dedicated to our customers needs.
“I am looking forward to leading them on to even greater successes, thus improving our service to tenants.”
Away from work, family man Sean, who is married with two children, is a big watersports fan and a keen wake boarder.
He is also renowned for his work with www.educatethekids.com – a British-based charity which supports under-privileged children in Kenya.
And there’s no worries about him looking the part in his new role – fashion-mad Sean has more than 20 suits in his wardrobe!
MWS director Tony Murray said: “Sean has so much experience behind him which really made him an obvious choice for the role.
“He is well liked and respected by all those he works with and I am certain his appointment will prove a huge asset to MWS.”
