Board Members
Mr Piers Feilden MBE
Chair
Mr Piers Feilden MBE has a degree in Mathematics and Economics, 30 years business experience and ran his own medium-sized company for 20 of those years. He is Chair of a charity that provides offending behaviour programmes within prisons and his skills include finance, business management and business strategy. Piers joined the Board of Magna West Somerset Housing Association Limited in 2005, is currently its Chair and has served on the Board of Magna Housing Group Limited since 2007.
Mr John Bryant
John Bryant has lived in West Somerset all his life, having worked with the same firm of local Solicitors until his retirement. He is a former District Councillor, with a special interest in housing and economic development, and former Chair of the Old Cleeve Parish Council. John is now a trustee of the League of Friends, Williton Hospital and is associated with the Quantock Federation of Schools. He joined the Board of MWS in 2010 and also serves on its Finance Committee.
Mr John Carslake
Mr John Carslake is a retired Chartered Surveyor who was formerly employed in West Somerset as Managing Agent for the National Trust. John has experience in rural property management, maintenance and development. He has served on the Board of Magna West Somerset Housing Association Limited since 2002, and is also Chair of its Development Committee and a member of its Finance Committee.
Mr Derick Cridland
Mr Derick Cridland joined the Board of Magna West Somerset Housing Association Limited in 2004 and also serves on its Development Committee. He has experience of living and working in the West Somerset area and of tenant services.
.jpg) Mr Clive Hoskisson
Mr Clive Hoskisson is a former Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and Managing Director of a Public Limited Company. His skills include property development, management and maintenance, financial management and accountancy, private finance and banking, legal and personnel. Clive joined the Board of Magna West Somerset Housing Association Limited (MWS) in 2001 and has served as its Chair. He is Chair of the MWS Finance Committee, serves on the MWS Development Committee, and since 2002, has served on the Board of Magna Housing Group Limited. He is also Chair of the Board of Charter (S.W.) Limited.
Mrs Bryony Houlden
Mrs Bryony Houlden joined the Board of Magna West Somerset Housing Association Limited in 2009. Bryony is Chief Executive of South West Councils and the SW Strategic Leaders' Board, supporting all 41 local authorities in the South West on a range of functions. She is also on the Board of Sustainability South West and was a founding member of Equality South West.
Mr David Kendall
Mr David Kendall joined the Board of Magna West Somerset Housing Association Limited in 2009.
Mr John Rogers
Mr John Rogers has been involved with Magna since 1999. He is a management consultant and his former employment was with a Building Society. Following his appointment to the MWS Finance Committee, he was appointed to serve on the Board of MWS in 2010. John also serves on the Finance Committee of the Parent Board, Magna Housing Group Limited.

Mrs Norma Stevens
Mrs Norma Stevens has a background in the motor trade, where she was self-employed and worked as a professional driver. She is both Treasurer of the Church Fellowship and Riverside Gardens Social Club and Vice Chair of the Magna West Somerset Housing Association Limited (MWS) Tenants’ Panel. Norma joined the Board of MWS in 2009 and also serves on its Development Committee.
Mr Karuna Tharmananthar
Mr Karuna Tharmananthar is a Chartered Civil Engineer and senior local government officer responsible for technical, financial and management control of development and regeneration projects, working closely with partner organisations to deliver sustainability and transport provision in North Somerset. He joined the Board of Magna West Somerset Housing Association Limited in 2008 and the Board of Magna Housing Group Limited in 2010.
Mr Andrew White
Vice Chair
Mr Andrew White (Vice Chair) joined the Board of Magna West Somerset Housing Association Limited in 2008 and was appointed its Vice Chair in 2009. He also serves on its Finance and Development Committees. Andrew works in retail management and is a Trustee of the Lyn and Exmoor Museum, a Committee member of the League of Friends of Lyn District Healthcare and a member of his local MacMillan Cancer Support Group Committee.
